Portalupi Wine Company was founded in 2002 by Tim and Jane Borges, a husband and wife team with generations of history and experience in the making and marketing of premium wines in Italy and Northern California. Portalupi Wine is a celebration of their reunion and a tribute to their rich Italian and Portuguese ancestry. Rich, deep purple-black ink color. The nose exudes Black Himalayan berries with a hint of vanilla bean and allspice. Over-the-top weight allows the wine to consume the palate. Although foreboding and aggressive, the wine's balance allows for a pleasant finish that dissipates in an elegantly angular fashion. Big boy 70's style Zin, this wine welcomes spicy, smoky fare. |
